Icarus
In June of 2011 I wrote a story. And it captured many imaginations. Of all the stuff I have put out into the world, this is the story most often commented on.
When someone pointed me to the Commonwealth Short Story Competition, I spent some time trying to write something specifically for it, and then changed my mind, edited Icarus down to the required wordcount, and submitted it.
It won a Highly Commended prize. And I started to think maybe I had something special here.
I started working in a printshop, where I get exposed to a lot of young bright artists. And there I encountered Josh's work, and I thought, "Man, Id love to get him to illustrate something for me."
And then I had a shower, and these things all came together. I approached Josh, he said yes, he'd like to do it, and so it happened.
We are making a beautiful thing, and we'd like you to be part of it.
That link leads to our Indiegogo campaign. I am so proud of this project, I am proud of this story, I am thrilled Josh has agreed to work on it with me. I believe that this book is going to be exquisite.
